A beautiful light pendant not only illuminates, but can often set the mood or feel of a space.  I like to think of it as the crown jewel of the room.  Be selective when choosing your dining room pendant or living room fixture.  It will not only draw your eye up, but should give excitement and wonder to all that cast their eyes upon it.

I love the organic feeling of this Jean de Merry “Reverie” Light Fixture

Gilded crystal chandeliers are great flea market/antique store finds.  I love to see these more traditional styles placed in a more contemporary setting.

  • Paper, Paper on the Wall

I am having a lot of fun with wallpaper  these days.  We are using paper in a variety of applications in a project I am currently designing..on the wall..the ceiling…behind a shelf.  We are even creating our own!   A little print and texture on the wall or ceiling can go a long way.  Here are some of my favorite papers that are sure to add dimension and interest to any room.

  • Black is the New Black

Painting your walls black makes quite a bold statement.  I love the juxtaposition of white furniture/upholstery/linens against a dark backdrop.  It creates depth and gives an edge to a room that color cannot seem to achieve.   There are some exceptional black paints and wall coverings out there..some with hints of blue or green, some with shine, some matte..all create a dramatic effect.  So why not paint your bathroom, bookshelves, kitchen island or door?
